Project Engineer The Role: The Project Engineer will be working as part of the Delivery Team in a role which will involve
enabling projects to be delivered with respect to technical specifications, client needs and
the needs and regulations of other stakeholders.

To work in partnership with Anglian Water Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Alliance
who carry out project work to replace, refurbish and upgrade our assets to ensure your water
keeps flowing. The role includes receipt of needs from Anglian Water (primarily planned),
development of least Whole Life Cost (WLC) solutions and ensuring solutions are up to all
required standards and regulations.

To help the IOS Alliance continue to meet and exceed our commitments to our
communities’, we are looking for a flexible and talented Water Project Engineer to join the
Reservoir and Tower Storage Point team based from our Peterborough office on a 12
month fixed term contract/ secondment. Key Responsibilities:
Emergency work Support Delivery Manager in the delivery of Emergency work in times of high workload or
resources shortages
Provide regular updates on progress to the Programme Manager and other key internal and
external stakeholders
Ensure “Project Diary” for work is kept updated on corporate systems and capture outputs in
the systems
Support the capture of asset changes (decommissioning, alteration, creation) in the relevant
corporate systems
Planned work (Rolling programme and standalone) Receive data and assessments of risk associated with planned needs and challenge it to
establish clear cost and risk benefit proposition
Develop projects in accordance with the agreed governance of the IOS Process and the
Core Capital Delivery Process
Create modelled solution within Asset+ giving the Final Business Plan (FBP) cost and
carbon baseline
Lead the completion of Root Cause Analysis where appropriate
Lead optioneering where appropriate
Comply with the corporate Risk and Value Process
Calculate Risk Index to ensure the data and process are robust and auditable
Receive prioritised projects
Develop solutions in line with corporate governance processes
Ensure standard products and other technical standards (e.g. minimum asset standards) are
adhered to
Support the capture of outputs and asset changes in the relevant corporate systems
Ensure customer management e.g. needs, system and cost requirements
Manage external stakeholder and internal operations liaison
Ensure engagement, planning and resource scheduling CF820-51 Version 4

Take responsibility for capturing all data and ensuring accurate reporting
Health and safety Complete and comply with all operational site H&S requirements to ensure safe working
Ensure Personal H&S & MTRA are completed and valid
Ensure near misses are recorded
Carry out ad hoc risk assessments as necessary
Ensure behavioral safety and subcontractor procurement aligns with AW H&S principles Governance and decision making Adhere to all relevant governances especially with regard to authorisation to spend and
periodic review
Support Programme Manager in representation at TIG and Programme/Project Boards
Develop deliverables documentation in support of the governance processes
Key measures & targets: Monthly and weekly reporting timescales are met
Working to affordability targets set
Achieving project Delivery Milestones throughout solution development
Ensure 3 Pillar KPI measures are met
Achieving AW’s ODI’s and outcomes
Key relationships: Contracts Managers, Project Managers, Site Agents, Site Engineers
Clients, suppliers and third parties
AW asset owners/operators Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential Operational water experience, preferably with in the Reservoir and Tower Storage Point
Basic understanding of the regulatory processes that govern AW’s IOS Initiative
Knowledge and experience of customer and external stakeholder management, planning
and resource scheduling
Appropriate professional engineering qualification
Contract management skills
Capital budget management skills
Strong negotiating skills
Strong cost and risk based analysis skills
Good communicator, able to communicate detailed data to a non-data literate audience
Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage/prioritise workloads
Ability to adapt and challenge
