DESIGN THE FUTURE WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS

We are looking for a Project Director to join our Bridges team in Glasgow, giving you the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK. You will be responsible for leading large projects or a portfolio of smaller design, checking or assessment projects across a range of both new and existing bridges and other complex structures. You'll be responsible for meeting targets for quality, client satisfaction and staff engagement. You will report to the Regional Director in the Glasgow office and work with them to develop our growing team of bridge engineers and bridge projects in Scotland and beyond.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:

* Planning and successfully operating assigned projects within your portfolio, including resource management

* Leading and developing the team of bridge engineers in the Glasgow office

* Contract review and negotiation

* Completion of projects in compliance with the COWI Integrated Management System

* Achieving project financial, schedule, quality and client satisfaction objectives

* Ensuring appropriate technical oversight/review is provided to the project team

* Project closure activities, including preparation of design cost statistics, updating of team member resumes and preparation of content for project reference sheets

* Contributing to month-end closure activities including project estimates, resolving project overruns, updating the long-term planning sheets and resource planning tool

* Growing the business with clients, including taking advantage of cross-selling opportunities

* Be a Chartered Civil and/or Structural Engineer.

* Be committed to your personal development and to upholding high standards of technical quality in your work and that of others.

* Have a proven track record in managing the delivery of bridge designs and assessments, either as client’s or contractor’s designer, ideally both.

* Have a proven track record in maintaining and developing strong client relationships.

* Have project management experience for large, complex projects and line management or project portfolio management experience.

* Have the experience and ability to see projects through from concept to completion within a professional services environment

* Demonstrate strong leadership skills and proven ability to manage teams through complexity, uncertainty and change

* Have excellent written and oral communication skills

* Be self-motivated, flexible and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

* Have an innovative and creative mind-set
