Job Specification

Click to DownloadIn these unprecedented times, it's essential to keep up the supply of safe, high-quality drinking water that households and communities up and down the UK can rely on. And you can be a part of the journey to make it happen.

Your next role

As a Production Technician, you'll understand the importance of the role you play in delivering safe, clean drinking water to your communities - now more than ever. You'll recognise the value of the work you do and you'll take pride in being on the front line of water delivery, ensuring customers receive the very best when they turn on the tap.

So whether it's the water that keeps the shower running, or that makes the morning tea round, you'll be a vital part of the journey from source to tap.

What's involved?

Day to day, you'll be out and about at various production sites completing electrical, mechanical and instrumental maintenance and repairs at Water Treatment Works, pumping stations and storage sites. You'll enjoy the independence and autonomy that comes with conducting a maintenance routine schedule.

You'll have the motivation and discipline to carry out the bulk of your work independently, but you'll also work collaboratively with your team to manage various treatment sites, ensuring these are operating efficiently and reliably.

Travelling from place to place couldn't be easier as you'll be given a brand new company van to drive to/from sites according to your schedule.

What do I need?

As you'll be working with electrical and mechanical plant and equipment, you'll hold a recognised electrical/mechanical qualification and have demonstratable experience of working on this kind of equipment. Experience in a similar process-driven environment is essential as we're looking for individuals with an engineering mindset who can apply their electrical and mechanical expertise to identify and resolve faults.

As the service you'll provide is essential to the customer, you'll be comfortable participating in a standby rota to ensure someone's always on call if there's an operational issue. It's all part of your outstanding service.

What's in it for me?

The work you'll do is essential for Affinity Water to deliver safe, clean drinking water to over 3.6 million customers every day. In return, you'll be entitled to a host of benefits including a double-matching pension scheme, on-the-job training and opportunities to undertake further education, career progression, and a holiday allowance that increases with length of service. So the longer you stay, the more you gain.

Got what it takes?

If you'd like to get involved in the story behind your drinking water and support those communities who rely on our service every day, and follow the quick and easy application questions to submit your interest. Everyone will get a response.
