Vacancy: Production Controller

Location: Enfield, Brimsdown

Job family: Supply & Logistics.

The Production Controller is responsible for providing outstanding service and supply chain expertise for the production operations within the PGMS UK business.

The main focus of the role is to drive an efficient and effective flow of materials through the refining processes, with the aim of satisfying customer requirements, controlling PGM inventory and reducing the Precious Metal backlog position.

Key responsibilities:

EHS, Quality and Security

* Support EHS principles in order to ensure that EHS is given top priority and good practice is followed at all times.

Supply Chain Delivery

* Develop a strong insight and understanding of the Refining process.

* Review, analyse and interpret production data, using this to set the Master Production Schedule and anticipate any problems with the flow of materials.

* Working with complex production processes, use data analysis techniques to reduce Precious Metal inventory levels and ensure production schedules are designed and delivered to meet customer Requirements.

* Operate and maintain efficient supply chain administration processes, including order of materials & reagents in addition to managing the intake and flow of material within the production cycle.

* Monitor and report adherence to the Master Production Schedule, Drive improved performance of the department in schedule adherence, expedite progress and develop, implement and operate an escalation process

* Build and maintain effective working relationships with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to ensure they understand Supply Chain requirements and are fully engaged, focused and committed to delivering Master Production schedules.

* Build and maintain effective working relationships with the Customer services teams and ensure that Customer Satisfaction is a key focus for the refining operation.

* Support management of the S&OP process - working with cross functional team members to analyse and critique the demand plan, analyse and track demonstrated capacity, and prepare and present the Supply S&OP and the Metal backlogs analysis.

* Manage the collation, analysis and presentation of all Supply Chain & Production data used in departmental KPI reports.

* Support the Senior Production Controller with the development and delivery of the daily management cycle - identifying abnormal operating conditions, risks and opportunities, Communicating and escalating as appropriate and expediting problem resolution.

* Manage Inventory, understand the inventory profile, identify slow moving inventory and develop action plans to reduce inventory

* Support the yearly stocktake process in conjunction with production to maximise the metal yield and reduce the inventory holding.

* Provide assistance to the advanced supply chain team in the implementation of Supply chain Systems improvement projects including PCS, TrakSYS, Lanner Witness Simulation model and Unify.

LEAN / Continuous Improvement

* Become a legacy systems super user and local expert.

* Develop and maintain Standard Work and Standard operations for the production control operations.

* Support LEAN implementation in the operational area to deliver improvements in culture and measurable financial and efficiency benefits.

* Use of LEAN tools such as VSM, Root Cause Problem solving etc to deliver efficiencies in the Manufacturing areas

People

* Work with other members of the supply chain and management team to identify opportunities for process improvement

* To take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will have/be:

* Experience in a Production Control/Supply Chain role

* Strong Health and Safety awareness

* Experienced and advanced user of IT systems including MS Office;

* A passion for IT and ability to learn (extensive training will be provided).

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least three months.
