Product Owner - Kantan

At Kantan, we're changing the lives of tradespeople by giving them the tools to excel in a competitive marketplace. Our product is an operating system for tradespeople that helps them make more money, manage their customers and manage their business. We have scaled rapidly to 2,000 tradespeople and 300,000 households on the platform, and have plans to grow further in 2021. We are funded by the OVO Group and have formed key industry partnerships that are helping us to realise our goal of revolutionising the £45 billion home services industry.

We are looking for a talented and ambitious Product Owner to manage our development team. You will manage a multidisciplinary team of designers, engineers and testers, reporting to the CEO to deliver an ambitious programme of work converting our product vision to reality. Your role will be to manage the end to end product development lifecycle by preparing specifications, backlog grooming and managing agile sprints. As an early member of the team you will have the opportunity to influence product strategy, working with the leadership team to identify and prioritise the roadmap and feature set.

What you will do

* Lead scrum team as the Product Owner
* Create User Stories from business requirements with the voice of the customer
* Support CEO and Senior Management to develop the product roadmap
* Maintain two weeks of fully groomed sprints for the scrum development team, ensuring product backlog items are always correctly prioritized.
* Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to align work priorities with maximum value to the product strategy
* Mitigate impediments that impact the scrum team’s ability to complete sprint and/or release goals
* Stay on top of new trends and best practices in Agile/Scrum

What you will need

* 3+ years experience managing digital products as a Product Owner
* Experience working/building relationships with cross-functional teams, delivering impact consistently through strong communication and influencing skills
* Open, collaborative and proven team player with an ability to initiate and drive projects to completion with minimal guidance or support
* Expertise in agile software development
* Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and unstructured problems
* Experience using roadmap and backlog management tools (JIRA or similar); project collaboration tools (Confluence) preferred
* Experience working in a start-up preferred
