Job Description Summary
Change agent with a passion for working with people and teams to deliver their best work. The role will facilitate new ways of working within teams using agile techniques. Supporting teams to deliver more effectively is the main goal.
About the Role
We would like you to use your knowledge and experience to own and set the strategic direction for how we implement fit for purpose architecture to meet the needs of GCT including the long-term products roadmap and strategy, practices, policies, operating model, infrastructure strategy, tools, coding standards, quality controls etc.
You will ensure that software is built in a way which is consistent with - and exploits where possible - the collective frameworks, patterns and best practices that exist across the wider Engineering community within GFS alongside working with business owners and stakeholders. Taking, implementing and developing best practise from your own experience and from the wider Bank and industry will be actively encouraged
You will be expected to own and drive ongoing delivery improvement plans being proud to make positive change embracing DevOps and Rapid Release initiatives by delivering quality to our customers faster. Together we will make and drive changes and make a real difference to customers inside and outside of the Bank.
Lead the rest of the team including coaching, mentoring and grow more junior colleagues.
1. Must have proven experience of project deliveries in different capacities in a financial industry in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
2. Must have experience and understand Corporate Treasury within Banking.
3. Proven software development experience in Java/J2EE or similar language.
4. A broad grasp of technologies to include Webservices, SAAS Cloud Deployments, Agile tools (including Jira/Confluence/GIThub), end-user visualisation tools, analytical reporting, Database development.
5. Keeps abreast with latest industry developments and application to financial industry including Machine Learning / In-Memory analytics / Blockchain.
6. Microsoft Certified professional understanding SQL technologies including SSRS and SSIS as well as strong SQL scripting knowledge.
7. Working Experience of Windows Based Development, including understanding of Phython/Java/VBA Coding and GIT/Gerrit/Jenkins/Urbancode/Confluence

The package for this role includes:
Base Salary of £62,000-£65,000 (NOT THE £53,064 - £58,960 QUOTED ABOVE)
Flex Benefits amounting to 4% of Base Salary
Car Allowance of £4,080
Pension Contribution of between 8-13% (based on colleague contribution)
