Southern Water is currently looking for a Process Technician with an electrical background to join our team in New Romney, Kent. Main Purpose of the role will be to undertake the day-to-day maintenance of, and repairs to, wastewater treatment works, sludge treatment centres and pumping stations to ensure all environmental, quality and customer service standards are met, whilst meeting H&S legislation and achieving budgetary targets. This position comes with a company van and an attractive starting salary of £29,200 together with other company benefits.
The position holder will be required to manage projects internally and provide the technical expertise to contractors working for Southern Water. This will include installation of the new plant and equipment as required as well as reactive and planned maintenance of plant and equipment on a daily basis. To identify possible future risks and recommend changes in the course of their day-to-day work and to raise these for resolution as required.
To be successful in this role you must be able to read and understand technical Mechanical and Electrical drawings. You need to be flexible and adaptable in order to provide standby cover and support with any issues and emergencies that may take place out-of-hours. Understanding of ISO9001 procedures and H&S policies are required. Understanding of permitted standards of discharge at Wastewater Treatment Work’s and forwarding rates at Wastewater Pumping Stations are necessary for this position. Please note that you must hold NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in speciality area and a full clean driving licence.
