Overview of the role

Work closely with manufacturing, product development and customer service as a key resource to develop internal manufacturing and service processes with the aim of improving quality, delivery, cost performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities will include working closely with the quality team on site and within Ecolab to support with issues with manufacturing, be a communication channel to carry voice of customer, investigate issues reported internally or via customers, and support the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

The utilisation of six sigma quality tools are expected, including 8D investigation reports, CAPA reporting, change control, and statistical quality control.

To provide on-site assistance & leadership to Bioquell’s’ supply base in the execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), the implementation of process control and the deployment of a continuous quality improvement process. To ensure that suppliers are able to meet business requirements for certification and quality of purchased material.

Responsibilities

* Champion problem solving & root cause analysis techniques to identify corrective and preventive actions that eliminate recurrence of non-conformances.

* Conduct internal quality audits to drive process standardisation, waste elimination and continuous improvement.

* Monitor, communicate and improve key performance indicators related to right first time, and customer feedback and complaints.

* Establish specific short/long term quality goals via the PDCA approach.

* Develop effective relationships within Bioquell and Ecolab to generate, and implement cost reduction ideas.

* Drive ‘zero defect’ mentality within the process.

* Lead ISO compliance audits.

* Lead internal audit schedules.

* Lead second & third party audits.

* Strategically lead performance improvement projects to address known issues or to reduce cost of quality.

* Work to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.

* Work with product development to develop appropriate preventive actions for poka-yoke.

* Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs & future trends.

* Manage calibration of equipment within areas of responsibility.

* Conduct GRR/MSA studies where applicable.

* Verify the implementation of solutions.

* Close out customer related issues.

Key skills required for the position

Essential skills:

* Engineering degree or at least 5 years working in a similar role within a Manufacturing Environment.

* Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

* Certified Lead Auditor.

* Sound knowledge of 8D/5Y/Lean/FMEA/FAIR/MSA

* Strong organisational skills.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills and works well with diverse groups of people and be able to function independently of direct supervision.

* Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Applications.

* Experience of Automotive OR Defence OR Pharmaceutical sectors.

* Ability to read engineering drawing
