Process Operator – Water Supply, Southern Water. Sussex Region. 7734BR
Are you an experienced professional with a keen interest in Water Supply? Southern Water is currently recruiting a Water Supply Process Operator to join the Water Resources & production team working throughout Sussex.
This role comes with an attractive base salary of £20,000 to £22,000 per annum + Standby payments of £7,891.50 per annum once you are fully trained.
You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting the operation of the Water Supply works and raw water abstraction sites in the area. You will ensure that they are maintained and operated to be compliant with water quality standards, environmental regulations and health and safety standards.
The primary purpose is oversee the continuous operation of water supply sites. You will maintain the that water quality is fit for supply to protect public health, oversee contractor diligence on supply site and escalate as required. The Role also includes weekly site cleaning to ensure we maintain the highest possible Water Quality standards within our water supply sites. You’re also be expected to support other parts of the Business on occasion due to Emergency or Busy periods
To be successful in this role you will need to have the ability to work well within a team as well as to be able to work unsupervised. You must be reliable, self-motivated and flexible, dedicated to quality, product compliance, and process recording. Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions and be available to work within the company’s 7 day working window and rotating shift patterns.
A maintenance or operating background and experience of fixed and mobile plant would be beneficial for this role. Ideally, you will have basic knowledge of the Environmental impact if compliance procedures are not followed and the risk that is then posed to the business. We are looking for candidates who have previous experience within a similar role. Knowledge of relevant water supply processes would be strong advantage. You must also hold a full UK driving license as a company van will be provided.
