Description of Team / Department
Aggregates Operations - Central East
Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role
To work alongside the RGM, AOM, Commercial and operational teams with the aim of increasing productivity and quality whilst reducing costs.
* Identify opportunities for continuous improvement by reviewing production processes and equipment to identify and implement processes that will reduce cycle times, process variation, defects, lead times,capped inventory or costs.
* Develop effective relationships that enable the influence of new process technique to be designed for manufacture and support other department members to ensure we are working together to achieve overall business goals
* Identify optimal operating parameters to maximise output of operations
* Reviewing developments in machinery and production techniques that will sustain effective and lasting change.
* Drive all sites towards a full standardized 5S TPM maintenance system
* Produce production planning tool to optimize pit balance of operations
* Identify and implement improvement opportunities.
* Maintain the ethos of a “right first time” culture.
* Source suppliers and partners that will challenge the status quo
* Ensure delivery of projects on time and on budget, whilst following PMG
* Apply statistical Process Control and Design of Experiment techniques to understand the voice of the process
* Develop, Implement and Maintain maintenance system using historical performance data and recommended regimes
* Gather information from sites, including future feed material grading data, production splits, process settings and product gradings
* Monitor performance by gathering relevant data
* Manage team of process technicians across sites in Central to embed process improvement initiatives, improving profitability and efficiency of sites
* Justify the return on any investment delivering an easily measurable ROI on each project or capital investment.
* Adopt industry best practice tools for understanding and ensuring the process, such as Aggflow
Skills / Experience
Process Control, Lean management, Six Sigma
Mechanical, or Production Engineering HND
Preferable trained in SPC, Lean and/or Six Sigma systems (Green belt)
Automotive or electronics background
