What is the purpose of the role?
In this role, you will support the Head of Wastewater Infrastructure Strategy & Planning in the development and production of our long term wastewater infrastructure strategies, integrating a wastewater systems approach in our thinking. Supporting you in the role is a principal asset modeller who has responsibility for wastewater infra Decision Support Tools such as Asset Investment Manager (AIM). In this role, you will work closely with senior managers from across the organisation to help develop and align our long term strategy throughout the business.

What will this role involve?
Identify and deliver engagement approaches and embed a culture of long-term strategic planning.
Research, Identify, analyse and present the case for strategic options for the business.
Support and drive the (Strategy, Planning & Innovation) SPI business unit in the development of our wastewater strategy in line with the overall corporate strategy.
Develop and maintain the wastewater strategy risk process linking in to the overall strategic business strategy and to identify external opportunities and threats.
Support the development and implementation of the strategic wastewater component of price reviews and the annual, business as usual strategy and planning process.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible individual to deal with constantly changing demands within a fast-paced environment. Ideally, you will have experience in a similar role and have a track record of sourcing and analysing a wide range of quantitative and qualitative information and developing profound insights that influence the direction of the business. To be successful in this role, you will possess outstanding knowledge and skills to develop robust strategies within a large company/organisation. Alongside this, you will have the confidence to proactively engage with our Senior Management and Executive Team. You will be a strong leader through the delivery of key projects and will possess excellent collaborative, consultative, influencing and negotiation skills alongside exceptional organisational skills and the ability to create and maintain working relationships at all levels. Through collaboratively working throughout the business you must be able to drive change.
Thames Water information and salary details
This exciting position is based in Reading, Berkshire. We are offering a salary between £55,000 - £65,000 depending on skills and experience. On top of our competitive salary package, you will also receive a competitive bonus, car allowance, private healthcare and an industry leading pension scheme. We also offer 2 paid volunteering days per year.
