Role Summary

We are now looking for an exceptional Principal Solutions Architect who can set us apart from our peers and build the saliency of the Meggitt brand. In this role you will be responsible for solution design across platform, network, and end user compute technology domains, determining the current and future principals, policies and standards for each technology domain, driving initial requirements gathering, as well as the creating high/low level designs for infrastructure projects. You will provide input to the technical direction of the group, working with enterprise architects, and specialist solution designers. This will be a challenging but varied role that will require you to use your tenacity, technical expertise and knowledge, as well as project management skills. We are looking for a strong lead to provide agile, scalable solutions to business requirements and challenges. #LI-SJ1

Core Responsibilities

* Be responsible for defining and documenting the principals, policies and standards for infrastructure technology domains (storage, platforms, end user compute, and network)
* Plan and manage the different phases of design work, requirements gathering, high level design, low level design, technical design reviews, post implementation reviews
* Ensure all projects have detailed requirements defined and agreed with the project stakeholders
* Create high level designs spanning the infrastructure technology domains
* Chair the technical design authority board
* Create low level designs, with support from specialist solution designs
* Perform post implementation reviews to validate builds against design
* Work closely with Enterprise Architects, other Solutions Architect s, Operations, and Suppliers, to define the present and future for:

Citrix/VMware Horizon View, Microsoft system Centre and Application packaging, Azure AD/OneDrive/Desktop Group Policy/MFA, Windows Desktop OS, Storage technologies, VMware vSphere, Cisco/HP LAN/WAN/WiFi, Solutions High/Low level design, Costs and project cost modelling, global design and operating policies/procedures, Document management and control

Skills, Experience & Competencies

* A technologist at heart with a proven track record, able to challenge thinking and drive projects to completion

* Broad experience in technical roles working with enterprise network, platforms, and EUC technologies

* Demonstrate awareness of both on-premises and cloud-based workspace architectures

* A relationship builder with outstanding communication skills and the ability to listen
* ITIL qualified or experience gained from managing in an IT service management environment

* Demonstrable experience dealing with hardware/software at the technology decision-making level

* Proven experience of networking including knowledge of LAN/WAN, Firewalls/Switches and Enterprise infrastructure environments including IT end point security

* Technical team leadership and guidance

* Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)

* Ability to gather data, to compile information, and prepare reports

* Ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organisation; a credible thinker and doer
* Degree qualified or equivalent industry experience/certifications (ITIL Foundation, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CISSP, TOGAF, PCI, ISO 9001 QMS)
