About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Bridge Engineer to join our team as one of the key technical leads. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Bridge Engineer experienced in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and refurbishment.

Our team delivers work for numerous local authorities and have recently secured the Leeds City Council framework contract for the next 6 years. You will be part of our team delivering the £30 million Regent Street Bridge replacement scheme in the heart of Leeds city centre, offering a highly complex challenge both technically and logistically. In addition to our major projects, we also carry out a range of refurbishment and maintenance schemes as well as bridge inspection and assessment work for both private sector and our many nation-wide Local Authority clients.

A typical week would include:

* Provide leadership and guidance to the project team expected to include three other structural engineers

* Work collaboratively with the Contract Manager and Project Manager to identify and resolve technical issues

* Exercise independent judgement and resolve technical issues locally where possible before escalation

* Manage processes to ensure technical issues and risks are resolved in a timely and cost-effective manner

* Manage and communicate with identified stakeholders on technical issues, including Contractors, local and remote technical and support teams, political representatives, etc.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

* A professional experience in design and construction management of bridge projects.

* A degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.

* Chartered Membership in a relevant discipline desirable, would consider candidates with proven commitment to gaining Chartership within 12 months.

* Recent, demonstrable experience in conducting design and assessment of highway structures in various materials using Eurocodes and the DMRB.

* Demonstrable experience of successfully leading a small team and managing stakeholders.

* Knowledge of contractual aspects of bridge construction.

* Ability to work independently with sound judgement.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of stakeholder management.

* Effective time management and strong organisational skills.
