To meet our growing UK business needs and future
development aspirations we are looking for a Principal River Engineer experienced
in the development of outline and detailed design flood risk solutions, project
appraisal and project management to join our expanding multi-disciplinary team
in London, becoming part of a respected and ambitious
company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Primary Job

will be leading projects for the Environment Agency, Lead Local Flood
Authorities and work with other disciplines within the group to deliver projects
for major infrastructure clients.

is a key role in the expansion of our river engineering team in London. Your responsibilities
would include:

* Design team leadership including
coordinating outline and detailed design of flood risk management

* Technical development of less
experienced engineers in the team

* Appraisal of flood risk costs and benefits

* Technical and business case

* Liaising with clients, hydraulic
modellers, architects and other design team members

* Commercial and financial
responsibility for the delivery of projects on time and to budget.



* Civil
Engineering degree and MICE, or similar, status

* Experience
of Safety in Design and Designers responsibilities under CDM

* Experience
in the leadership of outline and detailed design structural and
non-structural solutions for flood risk management

* Experience
in preparing business cases for flood risk management schemes

* Contract
and specification preparation

* Proven
ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in the development of design solutions

* Ability to
communicate with clarity both verbally and in writing

* Ability to review
reports and specifications.
* Ability
to develop, price and agree scope of services plus leading and winning
tender opportunities.

* Construction
related experience either as a supervisor or through visiting design
office support role;
* Knowledge
of hydraulic modelling packages used for mitigation option appraisal;
* Experience
of urban flood mitigation design;
* Preparation
of business case reports to Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management
* guidance processes
* Relationships
with the relevant statutory bodies e.g. Environment Agency, Natural
Resources Wales and SEPA
* Understanding of
