Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant
RPS is looking for a Principal Geo-environmental Consultant to join the Ground Risk and Remediation Team based in London, part of our wider Environmental & Infrastructure Division. You’ll get to work on a variety of projects with a team of highly experienced and collaborative colleagues and will have responsibility for managing and overseeing medium scale projects from commencement to completion. Project management and delivery of ground investigations and ground engineering projects
Site Appraisals, desk-based assessments, analysis and interpretative reporting
Providing technical expertise to clients, designers and other RPS offices relating to land contamination risk assessment, remediation design and implementation
Negotiating with regulators and statutory consultees
Preparation & technical review of reports
Business development, proposal writing and reviewing
Mentoring junior staff
You will ideally be chartered with a relevant professional organisation (or working towards chartered status) and have solid experience in a geo-environmental role applying contaminated land, risk assessment and liability principles, within a consultancy context. You will need to have strong technical capabilities and demonstrable management experience across a wide range of geo-environmental projects, preferably within the context of a multidisciplinary offering.
Good time and project management skills are a must, as are sound influencing and communication skills that enable you to build, maintain and consolidate working relationships with colleagues, clients and external bodies.
