The primary objective of this position is to manage the process and resources that provide quality pre-construction services to external clients, and oversee and manage the progress of existing projects to ensure their completion within the parameters of the established project budget. This position reports to and receives direction from the VP of Preconstruction.

What You’ll Do:

*

Working knowledge of electrical systems;

*

Mature knowledge of construction pricing;

*

Able to develop estimates for projects of all size and complexity at concept and detailed levels of design;

*

Established contacts at numerous subcontractor and vendor location;

*

Strong knowledge of the local market conditions and how those may impact the planning and estimating of projects;

*

Can assist operations Leaders and office/regional scheduling resources in providing input for project schedules. Has a good working understanding of durations for activities;

*

Can coordinate and manage a team of estimators establishing a preconstruction work plan that defines deliverables and responsibilities for assigned estimators;

*

Can confidently present and support our work to external clients;

*

Can manage all aspects of the required preconstruction deliverables to a client;

*

Able to lead the review of our work product and ensures all deliverables are accurate, complete and well- conceived in content and presentation;

*

Has developed the necessary understanding of the companies risk management procedures including strategies for bonds, insurance and Subguard;

*

Works with our business development and account managers in proposal preparation and the delivery of sales presentations;

*

Is often called on to train staff in how we work in preconstruction.

Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products, Estimating Software and subcontractor outreach and document control systems;

Able to navigate and utilize BIM models and effectively use the tools to our advantage;

Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or equivalent/applicable degree

Generally a minimum of 12 years of experience in Cost Estimating/Preconstruction.
