Cisco seeks a Systems Engineer to drive sales opportunity at a Tier 1 multinational Service Provider by helping in their digitisation drive. We are looking for a technologist that is not only technically astute but also attuned to industry trends, thinks strategically and ‘sees into the future’ - aligning to the overall corporate strategies and initiatives and able to translate these into a clear plan. You are always innovating, testing existing processes and theories and changing course when needed. All the while having a team-first stance and becoming the embodiment of a trusted advisor.

What You’ll do

You have a highly customer facing role and will conduct technical presentations, showcase Cisco solutions, set up demonstrations and explain features and benefits to your customer.

You will form relationships with our client’s key decision-makers, positioning Cisco solutions aligned accurately to their requirements. As an advisor to the customer, you will craft architectures and configure products to meet their specific needs. You will gain access to the whole Cisco Network Portfolio. In addition to having a solid technical background you will need the potential to learn and keep up to date on networking and software enablement, API’s and Network Programmability.

You will work with a variety of technologies and will therefore need strong team working and consultative skills and capacities to demonstrate technical solutions and capabilities effectively and conduct Proof-of-Concept (PoC) tests.

Your interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke enthusiasm, energy, resourcefulness and confidence to work across all Cisco Products. You should successfully navigate through Cisco's business groups (Services, Marketing, Architecture and Development Teams). You will also provide a business angle to appropriately drive the technical/architecture strategy

In this dynamic role, you will partner directly with Solutions Account Managers and an extended team to position innovative software and hardware solutions, focused on solving the business and technical problems of our customer. In that capacity you will be part of a multinational account team serving the customer and you will rely on an extended network of Cisco services professionals and Technical teams, with close support of your sales leadership/executives.

Who You Are

Are you a people-focused technical sales professional with a broad knowledge of Cisco and/or relevant industry products, solutions, technologies and related programs?

Do you love crafting your own technical solutions to the most pressing customer challenges?

Adept at translating technology vision, strategy and goals into a compelling value proposition? At as your best when you show customers how to transform their business by digital means? We want you!

* Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
* One to three years of Industry related experience and a passion for the pre-sales engineering role
* Knowledge across Cisco’s solutions set is preferred (Enterprise Networking, Data Centre/Cloud, Security and Collaboration)
* Cisco product experience or meaningful experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis a definite plus.
* Innate curiosity and eagerness to learn; at ease with a fast-paced work environment
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Understand customer business drivers and how to map these to a customer network platform
* Understand networking industry, including keeping updated on products and solutions.
* Have the ability to recognize industry shifts in their early stages, helping Cisco to fulfill on the market needs of today whilst creating markets through the innovative use of Cisco and related technologies.
* Be able to demonstrate a software architectural knowledge.
* Excellent technical consulting skills, including ability to define trade-offs, ask probing questions, and incorporate Cisco solutions into a broader technology environment
* Fluency in English required
* Willing to travel
* A natural teammate
* Be a self-starter, highly motivated. Have strong problem-solving skills and ability to assess a problem and figure out an effective course of action with minimal guidance.
