Job Description

A vacancy has arisen for a Plant Supervisor at Ashbridge Concrete York, reporting to the District Operations Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of the site and will be an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, who is able to work on his/her own initiative whilst under pressure in a very busy working environment.

Your duties will include the use of computer based and manual systems for batching and dispatch of concrete, controlling routine maintenance, maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure sites are operated in accordance with the all Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation and within quality scheme criteria.

Previous experience in the concrete industry would be beneficial but not essential.

A good telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential.

Applicants should be reliable, have an organized but flexible approach and be adaptable enough to be able to respond to the changing circumstances of our day to day business, with the aim to exceed our customer's expectations.

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

Your duties will include

* the use of computer based systems for manufacture and dispatch of concrete,
* operation of mobile plant,
* controlling routine maintenance,
* maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
* supervising contractors and hauliers to ensure this site is operated in accordance with the all Health, Safety & Environmental Legislation and within quality scheme criteria.

Skills / Experience

Computer literate,

good Communication skills both written and Verbal,
Self-motivated, able to work under pressure,

Leadership skills.
