Plant Fitter The Role: The Plant Fitter is required to service, repair and maintain equipment. Key Responsibilities:
General Service/repair a wide variety of mechanical/non-mechanical plant
Carry out designated tasks as outlined by Team leader or the department manager
Inspect tools/small plant and develop a scope of repairs
Diagnose and find customer and operator complaints
Liaise with Team Leader to update job progress and completion times
Carry out tasks in accordance with Equipment Service & Hire policies and procedures
Work in and maintain a working environment with an acceptable level of housekeeping
Correctly use and maintain PPE at all times
Complete and update Job Cards for all work tasks
Use and maintain workshop tooling in accordance to working specifications and conditions
Maintain an accurate time-keeping record relating to work tasks
Monitor and record the use of workplace consumables
Efficiency Process departmental work instructions for your allocated tasks
Adjust work procedures to meet department demands as dictated by production schedules
and workflow
Adhere to Company policies, safety regulations and risk assessments
Recommend improvements to quality of service and efficiency
Continuously improve department operations
Conferring with Team Leader to co-ordinate activities

Quality Maintain excellent levels of house keeping
Maintain and record job cards
Ensure the highest standards of quality control are achieved within the department
Report any near misses and close out where possible
Service and maintain all equipment in line with manufacturers guidelines/specifications
Key measures & targets: Maintain the agreed turnaround time on all equipment
Good stock levels maintained
All service/repair standards adhered to
Key relationships: Supervisor

Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential Experience of electrical fault-finding, hydraulics and general service and maintenance
Conversant with Stihl, Honda, Wacker and 110v power tools
Experience of diesel and petrol engine service and repairs
Motivated to ensure all maintenance is carried out to a high standard
Ability to work as part of a team but also on own initiative when required
Desirable NVQ/City & Guilds, or equivalent, in plant maintenance
Possession of a CSCS card
