Plant & Asset Manager for Contracting - National Role

Job Description

To manage, coordinate, maintain and promote a safe and efficient working environment which maximises the Company's resources whilst undertaking the management of the service, maintenance and repairs of machinery and directing the actions and overseeing the Asset Department

Description of Team / Department

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role

Management and adherence to Company Policies & Procedures.

To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way so as to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place.

To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation.

Manage the day to day health and safety aspects of the workshops and the workplace to promote a safe working environment.

Ensure that testing of appliances and equipment (either in the workshop or in your charge) is carried out in accordance with statutory regulations

Manage the repair and service of Company assets and machinery in a timely, effective and safe manner
Action urgent health and safety matters immediately
Capture costs on the maintenance and utilisation of plant and equipment
Management of stores drivers, their working time and adherence to statutory laws and regulations
Plan maintenance in the most expedient manner possible (reduce transport costs)
Manage the stores and consumables and ensure they are kept in line with Company and Statutory Laws

On site or in workshop audit machinery to ensure it complies with Hanson Contracting Plant Standards
Ensure Company plant and machinery is serviced & inspected as per Hanson Contracting Procedures
Ensure that all drivers hours are recorded in line with the WTD and the obligations which are required of the Operator's Licence

Formulate monthly reports detailing asset optimization and expenditure
Assist in formulating cost saving recommendations through the capture of reliable data

Skills / Experience

CSCS Regular Visitor Card Holder

ADR Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor

IOSH Working Safely

Working kniowledge of CPC Road Haulage

CITB Plant Managers Safety Scheme.
