Operations Manager - Major Connections (HV ICP Connection & Private Network Projects)

Freedom are looking for an experienced Operations Manager based out of either our Leeds OR London offices to lead a team of Project Managers who deliver HV ICP connection and private networks projects for a range of nationwide generation and private network customers.

The Operations Manager will manage all regional activities within the agreed budget / margins for Major Connections and ensure all projects are managed effectively by competent and well trained Project Managers.

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of project / programme management delivering HV Electrical Distribution projects and a good knowledge of contract / commercial management processes.

Additional Information and Responsibilities:

* Continually monitor safety performance and productivity levels seeking continuous improvement.
* Develop, (in conjunction with the Head of Major Connections), the regional management structure to meet the ongoing needs of the business
* Attend and participate in monthly operations meetings held by the Managing Director.
* Conduct regular progress meetings with all direct reports as required and ensure that all toolbox talks are delivered effectively as directed.
* Monitor and report on progress of work to the customer as required and maintain regular contact with all customers to ensure the smooth implementation of work.
* Continually monitor and strive to improve your team’s approach to safety rules and procedures, method statements and risk assessments.
* Conduct 1 in 10 inspections and ensure all defects are resolved.
* Assist with the management and resolution of customer complaints.
* Undertake role of Authorising Officer under Company competency procedures.

Requirements:

* Substantial experience of Project / Programme Management delivering HV Electrical Distribution Projects.
* Experience and good knowledge of Contract / Commercial Management processes
* Sound working knowledge of Financial Management Accounts and Reporting Systems.
* Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety and its practical implications in a CDM environment
* Honesty and Integrity that is customer service centric
* Hold an Electrical Engineering qualification at HNC or above (Desirable)
* Hold a NEBOSH qualification with a strong emphasis on Health & Safety
* Street-works NRSWA
* Project / Construction Managers Safety Training Scheme
* Prince 2 / APM Practitioner
