Job Title: Core Innovation Hub Operations Manager
Grade: Senior Manager / Chief Engineer (depending on experience)

Reporting To: Associate Director – Construction & Infrastructure Job Purpose: The Construction & Infrastructure Team of the MTC is about to commence delivery of a £72m project over 4 financial years to establish and run a Core Innovation Hub (CIH) for Transforming Construction – a hugely exciting opportunity to influence and

support radical changes in performance and
productivity in this industry.

This role requires an experienced senior manager
to work closely with the Associate Director and the
CIH team. From the day-to-day Hub management
activities to strategic, forward thinking, this role is all
about achieving through people. There will be a
small core team initially but the Hub’s collaborative
alliance and the matrix structure of this programme
will mean these achievements will be delivered
through engagement of 80+ MTC and industry
seconded staff.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities will include: • Working closely with the C&I AD and CIH partners on development, implement and management of programme strategies • Build and sustain key relationships across the CIH family. • Lead and motivate the core and seconded employees within the CIH. • Review and report on progress against KPI’s with support from the Hub Programme
management team (including monthly and
quarterly board report drafting) • Develop and nuture key industry relationships to
maintain engagement and active involvement in
project activity • Act as an intermediary between the industry
and MTC teams Other: With a background within manufacturing or engineering, you will have worked in roles such as

Operations or Regional Manager leading diverse
workforces in challenging environments.
Experience and appreciation of the Construction
sector is an added bonus.
You’ll demonstrate you have the x-factor required
for this role through your achievements over recent
years and what you can bring to enhance the
capabilities of the team. By working closely with the
Associate Director, you’ll be key in helping to create
an exceptional industry leading team.

This role will be challenging and demanding. Being
comfortable with change, flux and ambiguity are
definite requirements, but for the right person this
offers a rewarding opportunity to play a major and
influential role in this transformational programme.

As a self-starter with strong commercial acumen,
you’ll be able to quickly build rapport, engage and
communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of
people from construction, to academia, to
engineering to government.

You will be representing the MTC and the CIH at
industry meetings, forums and events so will need
to be confident at engaging and presenting at a
high level.

You will offer experience and skills in business
