Operations Development Engineer (Supply Chain)

The Opportunity

Operations Development Engineer (Supply Chain), Cannington Court, Bridgwater, Competitive salary and benefits

The Operational Development Engineer (Supply Chain) is responsible for supporting the NNB Pre-Operations Management of Work Lead in the delivery of the Hinkley Point C (HPC) operational Supply Chain Strategy. The successful individual will be required to manage and lead the delivery of the elements that will make up the HPC operational Supply Chain Department. This includes development of the operational spares catalogue, delivery of operational storage strategy, delivery of processes and procedures to manage the operational supply chain activities and delivery of operational long term service agreements.

Pre-Operations is split into the following programmes of work aligned to meet the current needs of the project:

Asset Management - covering Equipment Reliability , Work Management, Surveillance Programmes, EPR Plant Management and Maintenance ;

Operate the Plant - covering operational procedures, technical specification development, safety from the system, training specification;

Technical and Safety - covering the provision of Radiation Protection Adviser advice, compliance standards, preparations for radiography, emergency arrangements regulatory issues and Level 4 regulatory interface;

Operational Capability - working with HR and Generation on resource planning, terms and conditions and organisational structure.

The Person

You will:

Manage and lead the Pre Ops Supply Chain Team;

Manage the operational spares budget;

Manage the selection of the operational judicious and non judicious spares;

Manage the delivery of operational startegic and non judicious spares;

Manage the storage of the operational and non judicious spares;

Manage the development of the operational spares catalogue in an EAM System;

Manage the devleopment of the operational supply chain processes and proceedures;

Maintain interfaces and develop realtionships (technical & functional) with other HPC departments EPR Family Stations and EDF Energy’s existing Nuclear Business;

Research operating experience from the wider industries applicable to the HPC project and promote its use and application to make HPC a World Class performer;

The job holder will have direct reports and will manage a budget;

They will be part of a team of other engineers reporting to the Work Management Lead within the Asset Management programme of work.

The Skills

Please note - The following knowledge and experience could have been met in industries outside of the nuclear industry.

Required: BTEC Level 4/HNC/HND in engineering or science discipline.

Excellent communication skills

Understanding of inventory and procurement processes

Experience of Enterprise Asset Management Systems

Experience of spares selection

Experience of team management

Beable to develop and follow procedures

Experience of bidding and placement of orders for spares

Able to develop work plans and deliver them safely and efficiently.

Have experience of working in a project environment.

Experience of dealing with a wide range of suppliers and customers (UK based and international)
