Job Description
We are looking for a Network Security Architect to join Airbus Defence & Space at either our Corsham (Wiltshire) or Stevenage site. You will be design authority on a leading edge service provider network and will report to the Chief Systems Design Authority.
You will ensure the 'as designed' integrity of the technical security approach, ensuring network infrastructure can be considered 'governed' in terms of Network and Information Assurance. A significant part of this is the independent security verification of network security methodologies through architecture and baseline control.
You will be a senior network designer with experience of implementing designs in a secure network environment with a telecoms service provider. We will expect you to maintain appropriate levels of certification, for which support will be provided in financial and study leave terms.
You will need to be eligible to gain UK SC Security Clearance.
Tasks and responsibilities
Drive security change through development or review of network architectures, so they:
Fit business requirements for security
Mitigate the risks and conform to the relevant security policies
Balance information risk against cost of countermeasures
Support services through the engineering design process:
Understand the business environment and the information risks that systems of interest are subject to
Provide a focal point for resolution of network security and information risk matters
Propose alternate architectures or countermeasures to mitigate risks from initial solution architectures
Provide consultancy and advice to engineering on IA and architectural problems
Ownership of the security architecture and baseline
This role will involve some travel to UK sites and occasional overseas visits.
Skills and experience required
CISCO CCNP-Security/CCDP plus experience of using these qualifications
A background in Communications Engineering, and Network Security
Knowledge of IP, VOIP and MPLS systems
