As a Production Maintenance Technician at SUEZ recycling and recovery UK, you’ll be contributing to an ever growing established company that’s helping customers reduce their impact on the environment, conserve natural resources and reduce landfill. Our facilities in the Midlands produce ClimaFuel, a solid recovered fuel (SRF) from waste, which is then supplied to CEMEX and used as an alternative to fossil fuel.
What will I be doing?
Working on a rotating 4 on / 4 off shift basis, we’ll look to you to provide planned and reactive maintenance for all areas of our process and production plant, based at Landor Street, central Birmingham. That means making sure plant installations and modifications meet the latest standards and regulatory requirements, also identifying and driving continuous improvement. At the same time, you’ll be a valued member of the team, supporting colleagues across different functions. Our junior staff will look to you for guidance and supervision, as will contractors.
What are the requirements?
To join us in these key positions you’ll have a predominantly mechanical background, with basic Electrical knowledge, ideally with an Engineering Apprenticeship (or equivalent experience). You'll have worked in maintenance engineer / technician roles in manufacturing / production engineering environments, with hands on knowledge of equipment including conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics and pneumatics, with basic electrical knowledge / awareness. Ideally qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ level 3, SUEZ pride themselves on investing in the training and development of their staff, so additional qualifications required, can be gained and include IOSH Health & Safety. The ability to use Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is also desirable.
