Role overview

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician to support our commercial site in the West End Portolio, Victoria, Central London.

The sucessful candidate will provide reactive and PPM mechanical maintenance works across the site and will have previous experience within a commercial / building services environment.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Responsible for undertaking reactive and PPM works on the contract.

Details

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* PPM and extra work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards in accordance with HASAWA requirements including: -

* Check and inspection of all plant and equipment

* Carry out maintenance tasks in accordance with contract specification

* Fault finding/plant adjustments

* Interface with specialist sub-contractors

* Implement QA and H&S procedures

* Respond to reactive works

* Fault finding and plant adjustments.

* Check and inspection of electrical/mechanical services, plant and systems.

* Execution of maintenance tasks in accordance with contract specification.

* Respond to re-active works.

* A minimum of Mechanical City & Guilds, Part 1 and 2 or ‘A’ and ‘B’. BMS experience and Multi-skilling capability and or HVAC certificates, equivalent qualifications. Desirable to have Health and Safety Training and Specialist training i.e. Water treatment Systems BMS Controls, Fire & Voice Alarm Systems, etc.

* General duties will require multi skilled discipline to carry our work such as relamping luminaires, fault finding to electrical wiring systems, motors, generators, lighting systems, chillers, AHU’s alone with cleaning of foul water systems, foil drains, inspections and repair of all M&E systems such as extract and supply air ductwork systems, plumbing and heating systems

* Working hours are based on rota of 40 hours per week. Overtime as and when required. To go on callout rota for out of hours cover.

Additional responsibilities

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Previously working/ working as a mechanical engineer within the commercial sector, undertaking routine mechanical repairs & maintenance.

* Good understanding of Health & safety within the workplace.

* Planned Preventative Maintenance experience

* Risk Assessment and Method Statement approval and associated Work Permit’s.

* Fire alarm testing, emergency lighting testing and sprinkler testing

* Lamping and ballast changes

* Fault-finding

* Small electrical projects

* Control panels – PPMs and actuators

* BMS – Trend/ Schneider – controlling hot & colds, re-sets on boilers, fault-finding, checking plant is operational
