Overview / Responsibilities

Wood Nuclear is recruiting for an Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the Wood Nuclear Business Unit at our Heysham offices. Nuclear Energy provides high added value engineering, technical and safety case support to our customers’ nuclear operations. Its focus is on optimising continued safe operation and delivering lifetime extensions. This vacancy is with existing teams supporting major Clients in the civil and defence nuclear power generation industries.

Skills Expertise:

Facilities installations With an understanding of the following:

o Schematic diagrams

o General arrangements

o Building layout / containment drawings

o Safety critical understanding or having worked within a structured organisation (advantageous)

Testing and commissioning of mechanical systems (advantageous)

Building layout / containment drawings

Knowledge of HVAC systems (advantageous)

Skills / Qualifications

Skills & Qualifications:

HNC Qualification as a minimum within Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Knowledge of CAD and Microsoft Office
