We have an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer to join our Aero team in Redditch. The role is to support both customers and the engineering team with overall system theoretical/analytical design and support. You should the ability to design/analyze mechanical systems and liaise with designers, manufacturing engineers and project engineers to take a product from cradle to grave.

Mechanical Design Analysis Engineer responsibilities

· Liaise with customers and translate requirements into system solutions through design and analysis.

· Develop/use existing analytical models for the design of new Joule Thomson and Stirling Cryocoolers.

· Carry out both design analysis using CAD and hand calculations for both Stress, Fatigue and FEA as well as carry out Thermodynamic analysis on our product

· Encourage the use of novel technology and technological advancement whilst appreciating the requirements for reliability, risk and qualification.

· Support project engineers in taking customer requirements for new products through a typical product gateway process.

· Provide an appropriate level of technical ownership within the engineering group.

· Ensure design files are supported for products under development that include required documentation and supporting engineering calculations to an appropriate standard.

Qualifications

· Hold a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering related subject. Masters degree or higher would be advantageous.

· Working knowledge of Fluid Mechanics and Thermodynamics. Heat Transfer or high-pressure gases working knowledge highly advantageous.

· Analysis skills and tools knowledge such as FEA/CFD (ANSYS). Dynamic and static analysis of systems. System thermodynamic, heat transfer and/or fluids modelling.

· Excellent interpersonal skills allowing the individual to relate harmoniously with individuals, both within and outside of the company.

· Experience within the Aerospace/Space/Defense industry would be desirable
