What is the purpose of the role?
We are seeking an asset inspector to carry out planned condition and risk based inspections of our wastewater assets across London, inside M25. Working alongside an engineering society, you will deliver the planned programme and work with the wider business to ensure statutory compliance is met. Please note, there will be a shift pattern of 6:30am-3:45pm, 5 days one week 4 days next week. Plus 1 in 5 working nights 9:00pm-5:30am.

This opportunity will give the successful candidate the chance to work within the prestigious trunk sewer and strategic pumping stations across and beneath London. You will be part of a great team, working in London's historic sewers which date back to the Victorian age.
What will this role involve?
You will be responsible for inspection and reporting on the trunk sewer and strategic pumping station assets in line with the PUWER and LOLER regulations.
You will be required to work alongside and report any H&S issues to the operations teams, making key judgements and recommending appropriate solutions.
You will capture and communicate asset information including serviceability & condition for reporting purposes.
You will work alongside an independent party to carry out planned programmes of inspection ensuring that asset compliance and maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
You will operate plant and equipment ensuring compliance with current standards and regulations.
You will ensure that all asset data held on the British Engineering database is available and up to date.
What are we looking for?
Do you have a mechanical background? Are you interested in working in London's sewers? We are seeking someone with a working knowledge of H&S systems and procedures, and good IT knowledge. You will have excellent written and verbal communications and you must be able to generate reports to a high standard. It would be advantageous to have experience / knowledge of statutory compliance and lifting equipment inspections, audits or quality control. Due to the nature of the role a valid UK driving licence is required.
Thames Water information and salary details
Based at our Wick Lane Depot in London, E3 we are offering a salary of £23k + an additional 10% due to shift pattern.
