You will lead managers within the business unit and be accountable for manufacturing departments performance, optimising productivity to ensure that product is available for shipment to meet supply plans whilst maintaining compliance with the ADC quality system and regulatory requirements. Driving ownership and accountability in your team, your focus will be on supporting the ongoing development of both process and people, managing strategic relationships both internally and externally, collating and reporting departmental metrics, and delivering business critical activities.

Responsibilities will include:

Manage and develop a team of employees and leaders within area of responsibility and be accountable for their performance whilst providing direction to ensure product availability, maintaining regulatory compliance and optimising productivity.

Deliver quality and compliant product on time, in full and cost effectively to meet the needs of the business and customers, in a manner that supports core values and behaviours of the UK Operational Excellence ideals, and a culture of continuous improvement

Monitor on a regular basis and be responsible for the overall quality of the product and documentation produced by the Manufacturing Unit, ensuring continued audit-readiness, and full Abbott and industry process compliance.

Ensure compliance with EHS regulations and Abbott standards by adhering to and maintaining EHS systems, programmes, procedures that manage EHS risk and by demonstrating leadership and commitment through actions and provision of sufficient resources.

Support and drive rapid and compliant transfer/start-up of new products and processes in the Manufacturing Unit.

To be successful, you will need to be degree qualified in a Scientific, Engineering or related discipline, and bring a significant breadth of manufacturing experience (including working knowledge of GMP, Technical, and Quality requirements).

You will be a natural people leader, with proven experience in 2nd line management (including strategy translation, resource planning, financials etc). Reflecting our culture of identifying and harnessing talent you will bring proven experience of developing, mentoring and coaching your team to support employee growth and career development. Bringing strong communication skills; an inspiring, engaging and motivating style; and passion for leading change and continuous improvement/innovation projects, you will champion our business culture and evolving journey.

You will also need to demonstrate a track record of accomplishing your objectives, working proactively, and managing your own time effectively. Using data to drive decisions is key, as is the ability to translate this information to support wider understanding across the teams.

In addition to a COMPETITIVE SALARY, Abbott offers a highly ATTRACTIVE BENEFITS PACKAGE which includes a defined-contribution pension scheme, a share ownership scheme, private healthcare, life assurance, and a flexible benefits scheme which you can tailor to your own requirements.
