Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts
We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems

Meggitt Polymers and Composites (Stevenage) is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for developing engineering data to enable the manufacture of composite parts for use in a range aerospace applications; improving manufacturing processes in line with a Zero Defects manufacturing philosophy; interacting with customers in support of NPI and existing product programs; using a data based approach to problem solving within the manufacturing environment
Core Responsibilities

* Comprehensive understanding of a range of problem solving techniques such as 8D, 5 Why etc
* Comprehensive knowledge of 6 Sigma methodology, preferably with Yellow or Green Belt training

* Experience in the use of statistical analysis tools and Statistical Process Control techniques

* The ability to represent the Company in a professional manner at meetings with customers

* Engineering project management experience with particular reference to NPI

* Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify areas that could benefit from changes and improvements

* Apply working knowledge of product design and assembly to the manufacturing process

Skills Knowledge & Abilities

* A Batchelor or Master’s Degree in a recognised engineering discipline or an accredited Engineering Apprenticeship

* Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills

* A proven ability for working with minimal supervision and as part of a team

* An ability to communicate ideas and concepts clearly to people at all levels within the organisation

* Use of Microsoft Office Suite
