Vacancy: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Royston

We are currently recruiting Manufacturing Engineers to join our Team to be accountable for leading improvement initiatives and supporting complex problem solving within the Value Stream. Reporting to the Lead Engineering Manager you will facilitate the success of new Product, Process and Equipment Introduction by working closely with the Project Engineering function, representing the Value Stream needs and accepting and verifying projects.

Key responsibilities

*

Lead improvement projects within the Value Stream E.g. Focused Improvement deployment plan.

*

Project Manage Value Stream projects in line with Project Management guidelines.

*

Support the Value Stream in creating business cases for Project requests for Central Projects.

*

Value Stream Map and data driven optimisation of processes within the VS to reduce or eliminate all identified waste.

*

Ensure all projects meet JM safety guidelines and relevant regulations.

*

OEE metric owner ensuring alignment with JM standards.

*

Practical Problem Solving for complex issues using structured tools.

*

Act as trainer for IPS deployment.

*

Act as key interface with Central Projects in the successful delivery of new products, processes, equipment and processes to the Value Stream.

*

Ensure adequate fit for purpose standard work documentation is available for shop floor processes. Work with Project Engineering to ensure delivery of standard work documentation for new products and processes.

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will:

*

A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or Manufacturing engineering preferred or relevant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.

*

Ideally have TPM implementation experience and knowledge of PFMEA.

*

Experience of Value Stream Mapping.

*

Experience and understanding of Lean Manufacturing & Kaizen.

*

Understanding of design and production costs to include waste, downtime, scrap and re-work.

*

Strong problem-solving skills, an ability to drive change and an excellent ability to plan and organise work.

*

A focus on continued self-development and motivation to apply learnings.

*

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with multi-disciplined teams.
