What is the purpose of the role?

The role of this Management Systems Development Manager is to lead a technical operational area providing specialist technical support to the Thames Tideway development with a particular technical specialism, ensuring that the agreed compliance and service levels are achieved now and in the future. Support Thames Water's Tideway Integration Group (TIG) to meet its obligation under the Tideway Interface Agreement.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to get involved and play an important part in the role that Thames Water has taken on to deliver the £4.2 billion Thames Tideway Tunnel (super sewer). This is a great opportunity to work both independently and as part of a wider team on an exceptional and crucial infrastructure project that will develop London's sewer networks. This is a critical role within Thames Water to help ensure we deliver on our commitment to Ofwat as a business.

What will this role involve?

Working on the major development project Thames Tideway you will:

Manage the development and implementation of ISO14001, with the Environmental Management Systems Lead in Thames Water, for the operation of the London Tideway Tunnels.

Providing specialist knowledge and development on management systems.

Support the System Operator Project Manager in developing the key requirements for System Operation by the system commissioning date.

Liaise with key stakeholders and field based workers to build a strong working relationship to ensure development of the System Operation.

Attend system review meetings and support the reviews and follow on actions including review of documents, organising and managing meetings involving key stakeholders.

Implement business and technical developments to improve business performance.

Develop policies, standards, systems and processes for the London Tideway Tunnels whilst providing the business with guidance and support.

What are we looking for?

This role requires you to be educated to degree level and have relevant experience in developing management systems. Have strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work within a team environment. The ideal candidate will be able to build and maintain close working relationships with Tideway and their Contractors to become an integral part of the project delivery team and to deliver outcomes to the benefit of Thames Water and the project. Have a strong understanding of the management systems used (14001) and the ability to work alongside a large group of stakeholders and the environment agency using negotiation skills to ensure the best outcome. Experience within the Operations Sector would be desirable however not essential.

Thames Water information and salary details

This role will be based at Tideway's offices at London Bridge however there is flexibility to be based out of another site. We are offering a salary of up to £50,000 depending on skills and experience. Our excellent salary package includes a competitive contributory pension and a wider benefits scheme which includes an annual pay review, season ticket loans and loyalty awards for continuous service plus many more.
