Job information

Are you an experienced maintenance manager looking for your next move? Do you inspire and motivate others to give their best? Can you plan and deal with changing situations? Then don’t miss out on this opportunity…

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.

As the Production Manager, you’ll lead your team of 12 electrical and mechanical technicians to ensure all planned and reactive maintenance programmes are delivered successfully. You’ll make certain our water treatment works, pumping stations and reservoirs within East and West Sussex region are maintained to the highest quality; to supply reliably clean, running water for the communities we serve.

Previous experience in water treatment and supply would be beneficial but isn’t essential. What’s key is that you have proven experience within the maintenance industry; excellent mechanical and/or electrical technical skills and the ability to inspire and motivate others to give their best. As a strategic thinker, you’ll be encouraged to contribute your ideas to influence our future maintenance strategy to help shape our teams, systems and processes.

In this role, you’ll assess situations and make decisions to ensure your team are prioritising work in the best way possible. So, you’re someone who remains alert to changing situations and adapts to challenging circumstances to achieve the best results. You could be managing operational incidents in and outside of hours, sourcing specialist suppliers for equipment or organising contractors to help deliver our maintenance programmes. You’ll bring a methodical, systematic and organised approach to managing performance and outcomes. Having high standards, you’ll spot opportunities for continuous improvement and will bring a customer focus to ensure your team always provides the best service. Above all else; you know that health, safety and quality always comes first.

You’ll work 37 hours per week Monday to Friday. We can offer some flexibility over start and finish times. As the service we provide is essential for our communities, you’ll sometime be required on standby outside of normal hours and at weekends. In return, you’ll receive a standby allowance. As a Production Manager, you’ll mainly be based at our Barcombe site near Lewes. You’ll be happy to travel across the Sussex region as much as required as part of managing your team of remote field-based technicians. We’ll provide you a car allowance to help with travelling.
