A vacancy has arisen for a Maintenance Fitter to work at our Purfleet works in Essex. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for the maintenance of mechanical installations, fault finding, repairing defects and ensuring that a high standard of safety, relating to mechanical and fabrication installation is maintained. The applicant should be a qualified mechanical fitter to City & Guilds standards or equivalent. Experience of working with mechanical process equipment will be a distinct advantage. As part of multi skilling criteria, the applicant will be required to operate mobile plant if necessary, and assist with production duties, appropriate training will be provided. This position is a key appointment and the applicant must demonstrate competency through relevant experience and qualifications. Additionally the applicant should be reliable, flexible, organised and be able to work as part of a skilled team. Electrical knowledge and training would be an advantage. Applicant will also be required to cover out of hours mechanical breakdowns on a callout rota.

To ensure that work areas are in a clean and safe condition at all times
Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with the schedules and procedures.
Ensure that all maintenance carried out is accurately recorded for reference purposes.
Ensure that workshops, equipment and facilities are adequate and maintained.
Skills / Experience
Mechanical Maintenance skills. (Apprentice trained, ONC, IEE 18th Edition)
Operational Knowledge of the production plants.
Systematic approach to problem solving and solution finding.
Full understanding of electrical isolation and permitting procedures.
Possess fault finding skills
