Role overview

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, positive and confident Maintenance Fitter to be based at Raisby in the North East England Region. Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing mobile and fixed plant.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: -

• Facilitate and co-ordinate the repair and maintenance of plant and machinery i.e. carrying out any repairs/maintenance for crushers, screening, conveyor systems and some hydraulic equipment

• Provide supervision of others and third party’s assisting in the works being carried out

• Assist quarry management in the programming of scheduled maintenance aligned to production requirements

• Eliminate preventable plant breakdowns

• Ensure cost effective and timely ordering and supply of spares and critical equipment

• Undertake risk assessment and associated paperwork, where required, of the relevant activities to ensure a suitable and effective safe system of work

• Provide flexibility to undertake emergency repairs where and when these arise.

You will be a self-starter who responds appropriately on their own to improve outcomes and process’s and assumes responsibility for their own performance by demonstrating drive and initiative. You will have a flexible, proactive and versatile approach to work.

You must have previous experience as a mechanical fitter in a similar role or environment. You will be logically minded and possess excellent organisational skills and be confident dealing directly with internal and external customers on both a formal and informal level.
