Position Description

We have an exciting and rare opportunity for someone currently at a Senior Risk Control Surveyor or Senior Loss Control Engineer level to join our team as a Property Technical Lead. This role has a great variety of scope to it and acts as our technical lead for Property aspects (MD & BI) across all of our lines of business; including Property, Engineering Construction & Power (EC&P), Motor Trade, and SME.

As our Loss Control Engineering (LCE) Property Technical Lead, you will have ownership and responsibility for the training and development of property technical skills within the team, including development and maintenance of the LCE Faculty and Development Review programme, as well as handling technical referrals / reviews and contribution to the content and development of customer facing material, such as the Allianz Risk Management website.

Reporting into the LCE Technical Manager, a key aspect of the role is to work collaboratively with our underwriting account teams and Claims area of the business aiding in the development and implementation of our underwriting strategy in respect of technical developments, legislation, lessons learned etc. In addition to these more strategic element, this role will also be involved in desktop / site risk control surveys producing quality reports within agreed service standards

Helping to shape and add our voice to industry developed risk control guidance and assistance is an important aspect for Allianz, and one which you will be expected to participate through representation on internal and external technical committees/working groups, such as RISCAuthority.

Please note: this is a home/field based role covering the UK, with some travelling required to the Guildford Head Office

Skills & Experience

To be a success in this role, you will have extensive previous experience as a loss control engineer, risk control surveyor or similar specialist discipline, as well as the following:

• Detailed understanding of the property discipline, along with specific property loss control principles and their application
• Education to degree standard or equivalent, such as FCII, ACII, TIFireE, BEng.
• A highly proactive approach to service delivery
• Strong sense of commercial judgment and business acumen
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to influence and communicate at all levels within the organisation, with our customers and industry peers.
