Transforming an industry requires a balance of cutting-edge technology, innovative solutions and passionate people. We’re building our Watson Health Consulting team to complement the incredible services, products, data sets and platforms across IBM including IBM Watson Health. As we emerge from the COVID-19 lockdown into the new healthcare world, we have the resources to solve the most pressing issues facing these industries today. As a new group inside IBM, we have the mentality, flexibility and agility of a start-up and the support of the IBM enterprise and our broader partner ecosystem.

We’re looking for individuals with deep knowledge of the healthcare, life sciences and government ecosystems, so we can provide comprehensive services and solutions to some of the most prestigious organisations in the world. Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Lead Solution Architect, you’ll work as part of a client delivery team of problem solvers with extensive healthcare and consulting experience, helping our clients transform their business with the power of IBM and the Watson Health products, data sets and capabilities. You will work to shape the technical architecture needed to achieve the strategic transformation plan, case for change and approach to get there from start to finish. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Leading the definition of architectural solutions/designs with health and life sciences clients and IBM teams in support of customer needs and implementation objectives
* Analysis, design, build and implementation of end-to-end solutions to enable delivery of complex healthcare architecture and/or bioinformatics solutions, working in teams including clients, IBM colleagues and ecosystem partners
* Conducting technology architectural assessments to create strategies and roadmaps
* Bringing health domain expertise and working with application developers, client end users, operational leadership, and healthcare experts to understand current and future technical and product architecture needs
* Owning the overall architecture and advising engineering teams on its efficient use
* Training, coaching, and mentoring staff to promote technical knowledge transfer and enable best practice standards and policies for architectural development
* Being active in the product / offering management lifecycle to help shape the next generation of IBM Watson Health products, datasets and platforms
* Establishing a deep internal network across IBM Watson Health and IBM
* Responsible for developing the conceptual, logical and physical architecture that brings together a combination of IBM Data and AI, Cloud, Blockchain, Watson Health capabilities and custom components that create a solution to meet the client needs
* Evaluate and prioritize work for expediting business value delivery over perfection
* Provide technical leadership to the application development team
* Ensure uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained
* Collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

* High quality organisational and leadership skills
* Deep experience in Software Industry, with experience in software Architecture position incl. significant health/heath data/bioinformatics sector experience
* Expertise in digital, big data, cognitive and emerging technologies such as blockchain
* Experience architecting solutions in a cloud and microservices environment
* Experience working with multiple cloud development platforms from multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and/or Google Cloud)
* Experience in Kubernetes, Docker, Cloud Foundry
* Knowledge of RedHat and/or IBM Cloud Pak (for Data, for Integration, etc.)
* Excellent knowledge of UML and other modelling methods
* Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
* Understanding of software quality assurance principles

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

* Deep experience in healthcare and/or life sciences consulting
* Experience with, Cloud-based solutions, data and analytic models, big data and AI capabilities
* Experience in system migration to the cloud
* Experience with cloud development platforms from multiple cloud vendors (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, and/or Google Cloud)
* Experience implementing healthcare interoperability standards like HL7, FHIR, XDS, DICOM, etc.
* Experience working with privacy and security assessments
* Experience in a variety of digital, big data and emerging technologies such as Blockchain.
