We are looking for an experienced technology manager who will help us select and build the right technologies for our data scientists to be successful. The manager will help recruit and lead a small group of exceptional developers and engineers who will work hand in hand with scientists on a daily basis to enable them to deploy their ideas into production quickly and safely. Part of the role will involve ownership of projects and initiatives in the group that we hope will change the status quo – these might include looking at different compute platforms or for novel ways to collaborate with scientists outside the firm. The ability to bring about change in an organization is key.
The successful candidate will be very interested and conversant in the data space. They will have a track record of recruiting and leading small teams of technologists to successful deployments under time constraints in complex environments. They will welcome and enjoy the challenge of working with different users, problem spaces and technologies project to project. They will be conversant with a variety of data storage and processing technologies - successful candidates will enjoy in depth discussions around data storage, programming languages and security questions.
In order to succeed in this role, you will possess -
* Higher degree in computer science or engineering
* Experience building and managing small technical teams
* Experience defining SDLC processes
* Strong working knowledge of relational and
* Experience in a highly controlled data environment and
implementing entitlements and security solutions
* Some experience with Java
* Some experience with web technologies
* Some knowledge of Python based data science libraries
* Financial industry experience is not a pre-requisite
