Wood is currently recruiting for a Lead Planner with experience in the nuclear or oil and gas industry. As the demand for our expertise continues to grow an opportunity has arisen for a functional Lead Planner to work as part of the Wood Project Delivery Function. The position is responsible for planning and progress reporting of various projects in support of Project Managers and Project Engineers.

BPSS is required although it would be advantageous if SC is held.

Skills / Qualifications

Responsibilities

* Be focal point for all Planning Engineering queries in their area
* Train and mentor junior members of Planning Team
* Provide cover for PCM when necessary
* Lead cross-ODU improvements within the Planning Engineering arena
* Have overall responsibility for the quality of the planning service to the framework ensuring accurate progress reporting and analysis
* Preparation of Monthly Project Reports (internal and external)
* Variances investigation and reporting e.g. investigating schedule variances
* Assisting Project Managers & Project Engineers with producing EAC (estimate at completion)
* Liaising with subcontractors to establish progress against deliverables
* Managing project baselines
* Assisting PMs with change management
* Ad hoc project reporting
* Provision of Planning Support to Tenders

Role requirements

* Experience in a Lead Project Planning role including the being a planning focal point on a large contract or framework
* Experience with Primavera P6 planning software
* Excel skills
* Experience with financial or cost management software
* Demonstrable Commercial Awareness
* Attention to detail and good numerical skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Bachelor degree an advantage, but not essential

A QCF qualification in Planning/ Project Controls an advantage, but not essential
