Regulation, Compliance & Anti-Financial Crime Tech (RCA) at a glance

Our RCA team is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

Lead Engineer

You will be accountable for the technical leading & delivery of the end to end solutions for RCA products in an Agile environment. The Lead Engineer will be responsible with the technical design, coding, automated unit testing and integration, will liaise with the Product Owner, Architects, Product Managers, software engineers/developers and testers regarding the development and implementation of product lines using various technologies.

We’ll trust you to:

* Develop new technology applications in partnership with Business and Operations stakeholders to transform the RCA business
* Work in a global environment with distributed delivery teams, proposing the technical design and developing micro services to meet the functionalities required by the business
* Coach delivery teams in modern engineering practices, striving to ensure that your team can build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste
* Strive to contribute towards a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team and beyond
* Collaborate with other teams to build systems and integrate them together
* Collaborate with the RCA architects and engineering community to help define an architectural roadmap and individual solution designs that fit within that roadmap
* Value a software craftsmanship approach to software development, taking pride in well-crafted software that steadily adds value
* Support and enforce automated unit/integration testing as a standard development practice
* Ensure that the software built is reliable and easy to support in production
* Promoting a DevOps/SRE culture and modern toolchains to support continuous delivery
* Structure the delivery of program elements into epics & stories, and facilitate integration between various teams output for production releases, with support from BA, Architects, and Scrum Masters/Project Managers
* Support in defining and implementing clear standards and KPI’s for end to end software delivery. Ensure wider AFC & RCA objectives are included as appropriate.

We’d love you to bring:

* BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
* Experienced with following Tech Stack: Java 8+, Spring, Solace, Camel, Maven, Git, Jenkins/TeamCity; other technologies – would be a big plus
* Strong technical vision and hands on experience in software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD
* Experience building message driven applications
* Working knowledge micro services based architectures
* Prior experience working with XP practices and Agile software methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
* Ability to develop reusable and performant clean code aligned with good architectural and design principles
* Experience with: data streaming and processing technologies (Apache Kafka & Flinck), search engine technologies and tooling (Elasticsearch & Kibana) – nice to have
* Ability to manage priorities and conflicting timelines and work in a fast paced environment with firm deadlines
* Passion & drive for software engineering with over 10 years of experience
* A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills
* Ability to adapt to any roll in a cross functional and self-managing Agile team
