JOB TITLE: Lead Diagnostic Architect
SALARY: £45,000 - £52,000
POSTING END DATE: 26/02/2021
We’re re-examining our vehicles and what a vehicle means in the emerging world of automation, connectedness, electrification and the shared economy. New ideas, new technology, and new approaches to mobility are our business. Join a team of next generation thinkers.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Using the system architecture design of each customer feature, the diagnostic design engineer will utilise system failure documentation to derive specific diagnostic functional requirements to be implemented in the Hardware and Embedded SW platform, providing the ability for aftersales technicians to identify and rectify vehicle faults. The diagnostic design engineer will collaborate with a customer feature system owner, hardware engineer, quality engineer and technical service engineer to assign relevant diagnostic monitors to all system behaviours, allowing the observation and diagnosis of system performance in a vehicle engineering, manufacturing and customer lifecycle. The diagnostic design engineer will then be responsible throughout the system design process in assigning the requirements to the appropriate sub-systems and components throughout the functional partitioning activities.
Once the diagnostic requirements have been cascaded and agreed with development engineering, the diagnostic design engineer will be responsible for the management of the diagnostic delivery against component or vehicle development plans, working with the delivery engineers to ensure implementation and validation against the defined process.
As the diagnostic design engineer, you will be a subject matter expert in the correct application of diagnostic design within the requirements specified by industry with and Jaguar Land Rover standards, performing conformance reviews on all designs and validation results submitted.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
You’ll need previous experience of applying Systems Engineering Principles in design activities; evidenced by a minimum of 1 year’s work experience within a project applying Systems Engineering Principles
You’ll have knowledge of specifying or implementing diagnostic concepts using embedded SW; evidenced by a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within projects which implemented diagnostic or system health monitoring capability
You’ll need previous working experience in Software validation; evidenced by a minimum of 1 year’s work experience within a project as either a validation engineer or defining/managing a validation plan
