Overview / Responsibilities

Wood are seeking to recruit a landscape architect for a permanent position in our Bristol or Reading offices. They will have a strong background in contract management and in the implementation of large scale landscape projects. Primarily the successful candidate will provide Landscape Clerk of Works services for an electricity transmission connection project. This role will require oversight of the implementation and monitoring of all landscape works including off-site planting and enhancement. The Landscape Clerk of Works will liaise with the clerks of works for ecology and archaeology as well as contractors and consultees.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Based in either our Bristol or Reading offices, the successful candidate will display strong communication skills in addition to management and reporting skills. The successful candidate will be self-reliant, familiar with working away from the office and they will display strong organisational skills.

In addition to the Landscape Clerk of Works role described above, there will be scope for undertaking a wide range of landscape design and landscape planning/LVIA work as a member of Wood’s UK landscape team. Current major infrastructure projects for private and public sector clients include airports, power generation, urban extensions, utilities and renewables.

Skills / Qualifications

* Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (or equivalent)
* Significant experience of project implementation on site and contractor management
* Typically we would expect someone to have a minimum of five years' experience to have the skills and knowledge required to undertake this role successfully
* Excellent report writing and verbal communication skills are a requirement for this role
* Full driving licence essential
* Aboricultural experience will be an advantage.
