About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Land Surveyor to join our Major Projects team to work in Cumbria.
Role Purpose:
This project is due to run till 2023/24. and the role is to Support the Lead Surveyor and undertake surveying duties as assigned by him / her to prioritise services demand on this large infrastructure project.
What you'll be doing
As a Land Surveyor, your main responsibilities are as follows:
* Responsible for surveying and setting out complex systems, including Civil, Mechanical and Piping Equipment
* Responsible for undertaking as-built positional checks for the works
* Provide technical support to the project as subject matter expert
* Coach, mentor and develop less experienced surveyors / engineers to teach practicable survey / best practice techniques for setting out
* Ensure project quality assurance processes are fully complied with
* Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm
Who we're looking for
The following qualities and experience are essential:
* The role requires an individual experienced to survey and set-out complex large projects
* Full knowledge/understanding of Structural monitoring is required
* Experience/working knowledge of modern monitoring systems including geodetic & geotechnical is advantageous
* Good knowledge of AutoCAD, LSS, Leica Survey Equipment
* Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with JV partners under time pressure
* Demonstrates an understanding for project schedules, inter dependent activities, that facilities survey prioritisations
* Demonstrates a passion and excitement for his / her work. Tackles problems head-on and works to resolve them without delay
* A valid CSCS card is a requirement for this role
* Ability to attain BPSS and a P4 pass
Desirable
* Membership of the Chartered Institute of Engineering Surveyors.
* Already hold BPSS and a P4 pass is essential for continuance in the role
* Good knowledge of BIM
