We are recruiting for a Junior Tester to join the team in Newbury.

Your role

As a Junior Tester, you'll concentrate on carrying out functional testing, preparing Test plans, running manual & automated tests and developing and maintaining test cases.

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and engaged Test Analyst who is passionate about quality and testing. The candidate should have some hands-on experience in functional testing including system, system integration and user acceptance testing. They should be comfortable working with stakeholders to define quality test scenarios and should be adaptable in identifying and raising defects. Some experience working in agile and waterfall environments will be ideal.

We are looking for someone who is inspired and driven by working around the latest technologies, fast paced environments, and loves to bring new ideas to the table.

Responsibilities

Advise and collaborate with stakeholders on all aspects of testing activities

·Execute manual testing

·Non-functional testing

·Define and set up test data required to support testing

Defect management and test cycle reviews

·Maximise the benefits of appropriate test tools and practices to ensure efficient and successful delivery

·Provide input into release readiness reviews

·Manage testing risks and issues that may affect release scope and schedule.

Your profile

Qualifications and Technical Skills

* Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or above)- following subjects would be preferable: Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technology

Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

* Strong analytical skills

* Working knowledge of MS software, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and SharePoint

* Effective communication and presentation skills, verbal and written

Knowledge and Experience

* Working knowledge of industry standard Tools

* Experience with Defect management tool or ticket management system for bugs/features

* Testing experience and competent in test approaches and techniques

* ·Experience of developing test processes and improvements

* Ability to work as team player and autonomously

* Critical Thinking and Problem Solving

Nice to have, but not essential

* ·ISTQB/ISEB certification

* Technical understanding of mobile telecom environments

* knowledge of 2G, 3G & 4G Radio Systems
