Your role

Are you a developer with a passion for technology? Do you have an ability to refine requirements, remove ambiguity and deliver change? We are seeking a senior developer to deliver business change and reduce technical debt on one of our existing risk platforms while using best practices. In addition the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to and eventually join a team designing and building cloud native, best-in-class, enterprise scale applications using the latest technologies.

We are looking for a java software engineer who can/wants to:
• engineer solutions for counterparty credit risk within the existing framework
• create cohesive technology solutions and address technical debt
• take a hands on approach to investigating and solving problems
• focus on product quality (utilizing review, testing and fast feedback)
• analyze business needs working with business users to inform solution delivery
• provide technical leadership

Your team

You will be working in a hybrid pod comprising Global Treasury Technology, alongside Front Office Risk and P&L and Quant teams in London, and the Business. The team is highly motivated and consists of data quants and some of the bank's best technologists. This is a hands on technical role, where proven software design and development skills using core java logical approach to problem solving,

Your expertise

• Strong Java (8+) development skills including experience with multithreaded & concurrency, software design, enterprise integration patterns
• Experience with event driven, asynchronous programming
• Experience building Microservices using Spring/Spring Batch
• Strive for code quality and peer review other’s code to conform to higher standards
• Analysis skills (requirement refinement, data modelling, abstraction)
• Understanding of enterprise architecture and design skills
• Testing (Unit, System, Integration, UAT, Performance, Stability)
• Test Driven Development / Business Driven Development
• Iterative SDLC (Scrum ideal)
• Experience of large-scale enterprise software
• Results focused with desire to work closely with business partners, as part of a global team

• Cloud Experience (AZURE preferred), Kubernetes, Microservices
• Robot / Cucumber & Gherkin
• Python or Big Data(Spark, Scala)
• Knowledge of derivatives (FX, Rates, Credit, Commodities, Equities)
• Knowledge of risk
• enjoy logical problem solving tasks
• are passionate about what you do, you value excellence, learning and integrity
• enjoy a work environment that places emphasis on team work, collaboration and delivering business value while working at a sustainable pace
