IT Software Specialist

ROLE OUTLINE:

This role is a 6-month fixed term contract. The individual will report to the IT Manager. This is a standard 37½ hr working week providing support across business hours 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday although an element of flexibility will be required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Providing customer support and help on software installations

* Managing packaging and deployment of desktop software applications to include but not limited to the Autodesk suite of products.

* Provide incident management support for the second line service desk team for software related incidents. To be the point of escalation for software related problems and to manage software related problems through to a successful conclusion.

* Completing software installations tickets as allocated

* Updating user and asset information within the service desk tool

* Keeping users informed on status and progress of requests

* Prioritise & categorising requests in accordance with working procedures

* Maintaining call information within the service desk tool

* Monitoring and escalating calls in accordance with service levels

* Providing outage notification communications to the business community

* Log calls with external suppliers

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

* Experience using System Centre Configuration Manager (SCCM) 2012

* Experience in validating and executing packages within the SCCM environment

* Experience of working with SCCM 2012 Task Sequences, software configurations and deployment tasks

* Experience with MSI and EXE application packaging, including knowledge of best practices and standards

* Experience administrating Microsoft Windows Server environments

* In-Depth Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop OS (Win7, Win10)

* Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)

* Troubleshooting software-based incidents

Qualifications:

A-Levels or equivalent

* MCTS: Administering or Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, A-Levels or equivalent

Personal Qualities:

* Ability to work in a team environment

* Excellent interpersonal skills are essential to ensure effective and efficient service delivery

* Ability to work under pressure

* Ability to follow process
