Your role

If so, you are the right person for this role. We’re seeking technology and domain leaders to join our development team within Firmwide Risk IT. We are looking someone who can:

1. Work on the development and maintenance of UBS Risk Methodology models written in R programming language.
2. Facilitate smooth delivery of the model development project: work effectively in a hybrid setup involving risk methodology, risk change and IT counterparties. Take complete ownership of the delivery of the various software solutions / components worked upon by the team.
3. Demonstrate superior collaboration skills in working closely with various stakeholders and implementation teams to roll-out important regulatory and business improvement programs.
4. To provide IT technical consultancy to risk methodology users on model code optimization and best coding practices.
5. Design, develop, and enhance the platform functionalities, leveraging on Azure technology stacks and state of the art data science fin-tech solutions.

The role will be based out of London.

Your team

You will be part of the Global Firmwide Risk IT team that is responsible for:

- providing the systems needed by the Investment Bank and Wealth Management to manage Risk exposure of its global Front Office functions.
- providing the systems and framework that ensure Bank's compliance to various regulatory requirements.

Your expertise

At a minimum, you have:

– A Degree level qualification.
– 7+ years of experience; major part of which is in hands-on development using R programming language. Have good understanding of software design principles and concepts.
– Experiences with GitLab build pipeline and containerization technologies.
– Have prior experience of working in an agile environment.
– Experience in Azure DevOps processes and key Azure product offerings, distributed and parallel computing technologies such as Apache Spark and knowledge of Event Driven Architecture would be desirable.
– Have good knowledge of Financial Services domain
– Strong Analytical skills
– Strong initiative and sense of ownership
– Strong desire to learn new technologies
– A team player enjoys working in a cross region global IT team.
– A great communicator, with superior inter-personal and influencing skills.
– Someone with a flair for technology and is adept at leveraging the latest tools and technologies to increase team productivity and collaboration across dispersed teams.
– Someone who has a "can do" attitude.
– Someone who has an eye for Quality.
– Someone who is able to challenge the status quo.
– Able to engage with people across all levels and has excellent people management skills.
– Someone who can simultaneously work on multiple projects.
