To provide efficient and effective administrative Support relating to the provision of products and services provided by the Fleet & Plant business, together with P&L and operational service delivery accountabilities for those activities.

What will this role involve?

* Provide effective support to the Senior Fleet & Plant Manager
* Make decisions that will impact the team or work area
* Liaise with internal and external customers to interpret and deliver high service levels
* Line Management of immediate team in line with Amey policies and procedures
* Provide lead to team in the development of innovative solutions
* Keep abreast of developments in the Fleet & Plant industry to ensure a range of appropriate options are available to improve business performance
* Provide input to the departments P & L / budget and annual forecast programme to meet identified demands in accordance with agreed criteria
* Ensure that all local and Amey Group policies and procedures are complied with
* Work with all Fleet & Plant colleagues to enhance the services provided
* Comply with and assist reporting against all appropriate Key Performance Indicators, Service Level Agreements and Master Hire
* Ensure the Amey Values are upheld and act as an exemplar in all areas
* Development of the immediate department team and Involvement in training new starters
* Provide regular management information reports as and when required
* Assist in the Provision of innovative solutions to ensure Amey’s success on bid submissions
* Improve customer satisfaction, and quality of service, through the delivery of the Fleet & Plant customer satisfaction improvement plan
* Assist the Senior Fleet & Plant Manager in the process for achieving Capital Expenditure approval, and the Authority to Submit in accordance with the Amey procedure
* Provide support to customers by applying broad, technical understanding of required activities, with minimal supervision

What are we looking for?

* Current Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in either one of “National Road Haulage Operations” or “National Passenger Transport Operations” (as appropriate) is desired
* Skills and experience required are likely to be gained through extensive on the job experience or through advanced technical / specialist qualifications
* Able to demonstrate team leadership and motivation of personnel
* Able to demonstrate developed time management skills
* Able to prioritise and allocate work in the best interests of the business
* Able to operate within the Amey policies
* Ability to think logically and analytically
* Communication style is likely to be of a technical nature and needs to be clear, sensitive to the audience and reflect the Amey values
* Able to demonstrate a logical thought out approach to completing workload
