QinetiQ are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to work on an FTC basis to be based in Farnborough.

Purpose of the role:
The HR Advisor will have extensive HR generalist experience you must have a strong background in case management with a passion for delivering value added customer service through the application of professional HR knowledge and expertise.

Supporting the HR Business Partner in the delivery of the HR Business Plan, in order to meet the function and organisational HR objectives. Experience in delivering transformational change and project management would be helpful. Experience working with engineering and operations functions would be an advantage in the success in this role.

HR Advisors are the key point of contact for line managers with regards to advice on a wide range of HR issues from performance management through to sickness and absence, with the opportunity to also support a number of strategic change projects.

The HR Advisor will be instrumental in implementing performance plans and up skilling line managers.

This is a fast paced environment with challenging timescales which demands resilience in dealing with many conflicting tasks at one time for a variety of customers. The ability to prioritise and manage workloads calmly and effectively is therefore essential.

Due to the geographical spread of QinetiQ across the UK, this position will involve some UK travel and potentially international travel.

Principal Accountabilities:
Provide customer focused comprehensive and pragmatic HR advice, support and solutions to Managers and Employees in line with organisation policies and procedures on a range of employee relations matters.

Support the development and maintenance of a performance management culture across the business. This would include developing manager’s skills in this area, leading on capability related casework and advising and guiding mangers through the relevant policies.

Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with the Business, Colleagues, and Employee Engagement Representatives,

When required support HR projects and coordinate cyclical activities that sit within the HR calendar in line with Business requirements.
Deliver HR related training to an individual or a group when required.
Preparation and analysis of regular and ad hoc management information reports, to support continuous improvement in the management and monitoring of sickness absence, performance, retention and talent management

Work in conjunction with other members of the HR function to share best practice and drive consistency across the business

Providing HR Advisory input into Centre of Excellence projects, change management programmes and working groups/project teams as require

Key Competencies
Professional / Technical:
* Demonstrable experience of working in a business facing generalist HR role
* Experience of change management through consultation, including redundancy, TUPE, and T&Cs
* Excellent Employment Law knowledge and demonstrable application of knowledge
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to produce succinct correspondence and reports
* Preferably hold, or working towards, a CIPD Qualification or equivalent

Behavioural:
* Ability to Influence with a wide range of stakeholders
* Is resilient and shows conviction in decision making, maintaining high performance even when under pressure
* Takes personal responsibility to deliver on agreed outcomes
* The ability to ensure Human Resources matters are handled fairly and consistently in line with legal and company requirements
